Tanah Orang Batak Asli
that's what the TOBA in lake toba stands for
it simply means the native land for the bataks
batak people are often considered as yet another tribe in Indonesia
however, they consider themselves more of a race
we journeyed from siantar non-stop
and some 1hour+ later
we finally can have a peep at the lake
the largest lake in the southeast asian region
it was already around 6+ when we first saw the lake
and it will take us another 45mins or so to reach the city
i was already snapping happily by the window of the car
trying not to snap those electrical wires or tress or those bushes
and yeah
i finally got my only sunset shot during the whole entire trip
and it's nothing amusing either
once reaching the city
we settled down
driving around finding for the right suitable hotel for rest
settling down at niagara hotel which we all regretted the day after,
we bathed
slacked around
watch tv
coz we practically don't know what to do already around the area
the only entertainment in lake toba would be the lake
and when night falls
there is nothing left to be done at the lake
the city doesn't help either
their city is only of a 1 road long which ain't very long either
we basically drove pass the whole city in less than 10 mins
we then decided to go buy the monopoly game
ta bao dinner to the hotel
slack around
watch tv again
have dinner
and it was monopoly till 4 a.m.
and that was the first day of my trip
ended wif homesick sleeping while still holding the tv remote control
-.-"
