been really really really really really busy :s

the SIM Arts Festival is tomorrow !

i counted yesterday

i think it'll have some more than 50+ "art" works done by me =O

including:

40 comic storyboards on panels

3 large arts festival banners

5 pictures i donated for the charity to be put up for sale

1 picture of the introduction

1 picture of myself XD

1 design of the handprint event thing

the arts fest poster itself

and dont know what else i completely forgot already man

so

just finished off some 4 comic strips in one night

i kinda feel i'm a different person behind the camera

the mood and all the tiredness will disappear

for a while

and it's those moments that make my life complete

the curves of the camera and lens on my hands

viewfinder at the eye

and everything seems to stop

time flies

and for those short moments

i can be at peace

doing what i do best

and so i tried to do what i thought i could

turning two sweet looking models into a rebellious looking teen

which i failed miserably

may be i just wasn't at my optimum condition

i sincerely apologies for that girls :(

but then again again

you guys were great regardless !

and the shoot, though totally went off of the theme i wanted

turned out to be pretty not bad at all :)

recent shoots

my god,

just realized i have only like 3 times since i got back home

been really busy

this week itself have done two photoshoots

a few other jobs on pending that should have been done like

REALLY SOON

1 more week left before i return to singapore

i so...dont wanna leave yet

but am definitely looking forward to the one week i'll be in singapore before i leave again

fashion nation shoot for the upcoming issue !

the young performers concert !

and of course

BALI !

for now,

lots of editing to be done

the first photo shoot last wednesday was actually done

but am still not happy with the results

so most probably am gonna re-edit the whole bunch

some 40 over pics

then sunday was one of the most....

bare, daring, lots of light play, fun and tiring kinda photoshoot i've ever done

extreme respect to the model who is alos an artist in her own way

a fashion designer in the making

respect for her ability to express herself so freely :)

why is it that lately...

no matter how much i eat during the day

dunno wad is Xposed

dunno what is Xposed is a photoshoot event i participated very long long ago i think somewhere last year in December but i never had the chance to select and edit out the pics

and since i haven't been shooting lately,

i've begin digging out my archive of photos after photos and suddenly found this folder

and the bad bad experience was re-lived

the theme of the photoshoot was

beauty Xpose

i've posted the intro of the pics here earlier but never got the chance to complete it XD

but i seriously don't know what is Xposed really

only ugliness and bad bad experience that i had was Xposed

some 30 - 40 something of us were grouped to shoot some 4 models

so it's something like 10 to 15 - 1

and the worst thing is

- no flash photography allowed -

to be fair with the rest for those who doesn't have flash

i was ok la

no flash no flash lor

as long as you provide good lighting

since it's an indoor shoot

i believe lighting is of an essential here

and you know what they provide us ?

the light that i'd say most photographers hate. - the yellow super hot halogen light

wtf ?

they were so hot

the model kept perspiring

and the air-con room become like non air con like that

let's not go to the models they provide us

ok

enough bitching

i'm kinda in a rush to do something

what you see before your eyes has been - fill in here (very well/very bad) - beyond recognition

that's why the model, though 1 person

isn't consistent

coz some is physically enhanced

some is i don't care leave it as it is

but mostly, quite some work has been done to the lighting part :)

14.25 : Back on the road leaving Takengon*
16.25 : Pass Biruen*
18.28 : Sunset at somewhere between Biruen* and Lhokseumawe*
19.00 : Reached Lhokseumawe*
then had dinner, chatted till like 11 plus some more and slept d

DAY FOUR

05.10 : Woke up and headed to the beach straight

07.00 : Back to Losmen to pack
08.00 : Breakfast

all shops are closed from 12 - 2 on fridays in the whole of Aceh (very Islamic here)

sada means satu in Aceh's local dialect which also means one !

for those of you who don't know
Aceh was the city that was hit by the tsunami back then in 2004. Aceh's tsunami swallowed up the most number of deaths from the cities that were hit as well totallying to more than hundred thousands, but the cities that i went to, except from Lhokseumawe where the impact was little to none, was not hit by the tsunami so no post-tsunami pictures d - as much as i've wished i could have travelled further up....i actually went on a trip with a salesman where i had helped work also when i'm not shooting so i have to just simply follow his usual route :( thus the purpose of this trip was more to work than my personal photography needs

Arifin and a friend is in Medan so i'll be leaving on another trip this coming tuesday
destination : Lake Toba
the sole purpose for the trip will be photography, totally quite different from the previous visit i went with Homesick, st and the girls so my expectation this time round is quite high d

expect lots of landscape pics when i'm back in singapore this coming 3rd of July !!!
