my god,

just realized i have only like 3 times since i got back home

been really busy

this week itself have done two photoshoots

a few other jobs on pending that should have been done like

REALLY SOON

1 more week left before i return to singapore

i so...dont wanna leave yet

but am definitely looking forward to the one week i'll be in singapore before i leave again

fashion nation shoot for the upcoming issue !

the young performers concert !

and of course

BALI !

for now,

lots of editing to be done

the first photo shoot last wednesday was actually done

but am still not happy with the results

so most probably am gonna re-edit the whole bunch

some 40 over pics

then sunday was one of the most....

bare, daring, lots of light play, fun and tiring kinda photoshoot i've ever done

extreme respect to the model who is alos an artist in her own way

a fashion designer in the making

respect for her ability to express herself so freely :)

will do a mini-test-trial-kinda-shoot of it tomorrow

or even it can be the start of a whole continuous series !

never spent so much and prepared so much for a shoot before

so is super excited !

must be the body adjusting to the kind of food and everything else here

really bad sore throat which i recovered from in one night

now is coughing badly

haven't been this sick for a while

the manifesto shoot 01

"Hi Herbert,

I am looking for a photographer, and I think you are suitable for this project.

The style of the shoot is based on the theme 'Beginnings', the mood is playful, light, with some references to childhood in terms of the location. We will be sourcing for old playgrounds around Singapore.

We are tentatively setting the date of the shoot on 21, 22 Feb. Will you be available on either of these dates?

the mini marry-go-round thing idea has been in my head for some time

i've wanted to shoot it this way ever since Stephie told me she wanted to have this thing in to the shot and asked how i could use it, during one of the many msn discussions we had prior to the shoot.

well, this being a fashion shoot, i was actually scared that things might not turn out the way both the fashion experts wanted

but am i glad that they like it too !

that was one of the first thing we shot as far as my memory serve me well

after that

everything just flows in its place

and hell

it was definitely fun !

during our shoot at the merry-go-round, both laila and kim came

2 more artists and their own rights to add in more input

and well, help me too in a way

if u've watched the video,

Laila's the one running in circle helping me turn the merry-go-round while i force the model to stay as still as she can and i hold on to my dear camera as tight as possible and be as still as i can be

a few rounds later

everyone else were walking in straight lines but the model and the photographer

also

not forgetting to mention

that the 2nd piece of dress the model wore were specially made by Laila for thos photoshoot !

keeping this short,
so this is what happen today
i join this beauty Xpose thing
some model shoot organized by intermezzo cafe in medan
and am home now
totally freaking damn disappointed with the organizing committee for the extremely lateness in every single freaking thing with no apologies etc...
totally disappointed on how the organized the flow of the events
for one,
each of us were supposed to shoot like 5 models
due to the screwed-up-ness of them
i don't know why
i only shoot like 4
there were supposed to be like 6 locations
i only managed to get 5
the way they light the models up
= super duper extremely freakingly lowly budgettedly disappointing, they used halogen lights = yellow lights = any good photographer will tell you halogen lights = ur wb = can throw dustbin = fugly = i have to keep on changing my wb or i shoot bw straight coz i cannot tahan the fugliest even in-camera, nuff said.

the main highlight of that day was the couple shots
and for that
i've come out with an idea that i thought was...
well, u be my judge

for photographers
they can run out of ideas for poses
so when u're first to be shot
that could means the best
well, that is if the photographers are already warmed up
and at that time
i already was
so towards the end
the poses just got worst and worst
i was also incredibly tired and hungry
which adds to the worst-ness

























next up was aman and novi


























and then it was my cousin and rosi 1
who were very damn stiff
and no matter how i interact with them
they were there still
stiff like a tree

























then we all had a little break
and this was the behind the scenes :)

























my friend was kind enough to help me hold the light
and when someone holds the light for me
often, they won't have the exact angle of light i'd want
and that happens that very night too
but i was already too tired and hungry to bother bout it
all i care bout was that i had enough light to shoot without the tripod
and without needing to push up the ISO speed
that
also adds up to the result
it got bad to terribly bad to worst to terribly damn jia lat

i've ran out of poses that i seriously don't know what i was doing already
and as long as i had a smile from both of them
i fired the shutter off

























and when it was finally over
some left earlier
some stayed on
and we all had a little fun

so on the 16th last month
i had this idea for a photo shoot
so i decided to call all the friends with their girlfriends over to my black wall
4 couples came
and we all began with a single shoot
and these were that came
except one dood who don't wanna be shot singled
well,
most of them aren't really prepared for the camera
and i gotta convince them that it'll turn out really nice despite the low-cost equipments i used during the process
low-cost as in the reflectors and lighting etc...

however,
one couple turned out to be most supportive
and thus, they're gonna be featured first !
