got myself a new hat for the previous shoot

finally the test printed a shirt i designed myself was done

got myself a new semi-formal suit that i haven't really worn yet

miss shooting with the powershot G9

tuned on some michael jackson songs

Dare to Dream : Guitarist

Dare to Dream is an incomplete and ongoing project that i'm currently doing and will definitely be pursuing to complete in the near future, that is when all the concept and idea is finally finalized and have enough resources.

the shoot i've done here is more or less more kinda a test trial on the idea

the whole idea of the shoot is to capture a dream, an ambition, an occupation, a want, a need, a wish, a dream.

though i'm still not completely happy with the final post-processing of the other dreams i've captured

here, i shall present to you first

the very first series of my trial concept on Dare to Dream

the first and i think only batch i'm happy with currently with the post-production work

"Hi Herbert,

I am looking for a photographer, and I think you are suitable for this project.

The style of the shoot is based on the theme 'Beginnings', the mood is playful, light, with some references to childhood in terms of the location. We will be sourcing for old playgrounds around Singapore.

We are tentatively setting the date of the shoot on 21, 22 Feb. Will you be available on either of these dates?

decided to proceed to location so i can check them out first

began shooting !

the mini marry-go-round thing idea has been in my head for some time

i've wanted to shoot it this way ever since Stephie told me she wanted to have this thing in to the shot and asked how i could use it, during one of the many msn discussions we had prior to the shoot.

well, this being a fashion shoot, i was actually scared that things might not turn out the way both the fashion experts wanted

but am i glad that they like it too !

that was one of the first thing we shot as far as my memory serve me well

after that

everything just flows in its place

and hell

it was definitely fun !

during our shoot at the merry-go-round, both laila and kim came

2 more artists and their own rights to add in more input

and well, help me too in a way

if u've watched the video,

Laila's the one running in circle helping me turn the merry-go-round while i force the model to stay as still as she can and i hold on to my dear camera as tight as possible and be as still as i can be

a few rounds later

everyone else were walking in straight lines but the model and the photographer

also

not forgetting to mention

that the 2nd piece of dress the model wore were specially made by Laila for thos photoshoot !

another day spent outside

= another more $$ wasted day

but then it's all good

the finance is stable still

no recession so far

all thanks to no useless spending and self-discipline

kinda have to go judge some photos for now before i can head to bed

another full day again tomorrow

got meetings

quite a lot of designing and photo editing to be done

so bleh...

lots of time definitely will be spent in front of the computer when i'm back to indo

went to east coast park

for a cycling / roller blading session

banet and yuli had their twicycle (u know those bicycle can got 2 ppl ride one) coz yuli dunno how to ride -.-"

= tireness

seeing these pictures in its original size

can really really feel the difference of sharpness between 28-300mm sigma and my 85mm canon

it's like heaven and hell difference !

so i went to the singapura kebun binatang today

do what ?

shoot binatang lor

shot some 300 over pics

to get a better pic each time after each shot

end up 1 animal i have like only 2 - 3 pics

and i didn't really shoot quite a lot of animals : /

one thing photography

to be precise

macro, landscape and animal photography

really thought me a lot of patience through these years

i wasn't as patience as i am today back back then

these types of photography just require patience

u gotta wait wait wait and wait

to just get that one right moment

when that snake hat its tongue out

when the penguin jumps in to swim

when that monkey jumped off for a swing

and of course

the right light

the right place

the right angle

all must put in patience one

and since i'm very tired liao

gonna just post 6 pics from the earlier part of the day today d

had to wait for this monkey to turn around

coz singapore zoo's monkey all mostly only show us their asses instead of the face -.-"

had to wait for this bird to turn its head back a slight bit so the light hit its face nicely

instead of go swim up or down

had to wait for the monkey to jump on that thing there

10 days to freedom

it's been 7 days since i've turn my life upside down

by that i totally means upside down

your night time is my day time

and your day time is my sleeping time

the peace and quietness of the night is the only time i can study well

it's been like that for years and i've never thought of changing it

and boy,

these days have been pretty much lifeless

i'd wake up at 11pm

bathe and have my "breakfast" while watching either antm or southpark

then sit down a bit editing pic for this post

and once all these slacking are done

usually it'd be around 2am

i'd pack my books

head down to the study area nearby

and began mugging

often, i'd then take an hour break after 2 - 3 hours of straight studying

that'll be the time i come home

roam around deviantart or other people's blogs

after that i'm down at the study area again

and all the way till 6 am

come back home

finish up whatever chapter i've allocated myself to for the night

and then i'd have another meal

watch another episode of antm / southpark

and i'm off to bed

and the cycle repeats

pretty darn boring and tiring

share a photo i shoot during a break time where i decided to shoot instead of coming back online again

10 more nights of lifeless boring days

and i'd be free !!

can't wait.
